Xuzhou Museum Myth Shine into Reality Course was Awarded as an Excellent Case of China Museum Youth Education Course

      From October 29 to November 1, 2018 , the "Seminar on the Original Aspiration and Responsibility of Museum Education & the 2018 Annual Conference of Social Education Committee of the China Museum Association" was held in Chongqing, under the guidance of the China Museum Association, hosted by the Social Education Committee of the China Museum Association, and undertaken by Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum. Xuzhou Museum Youth Education Course "Myths Shine into Reality" was selected as the "Excellent Case of 2015-2017 Chinese Museum Youth Education Course" by the Social Education Committee of China Museum Association.

      The "2015-2017 China Museum Youth Education Course Outstanding Teaching Design Promotion Exhibition" held by China Museum Association is the implementation of the principle reported in the 19th CPC National Congress, which promotes the creative transformation and innovative development of outstanding Chinese traditional culture to build better Chinese spirit, Chinese value, and Chinese power. This activity is also a further improvement of the public cultural service system and an in-depth excavation of the ideological concepts, humanistic spirit, and moral norms contained in the excellent traditional Chinese culture, so that the Chinese culture can exhibit a permanent charm and a concentrated feature of the times.
      Myth Shines into Reality is a focus education course launched by Xuzhou Museum to connect ancient material culture with myth stories. The course explains a specific traditional skill or material culture of ancient times through the myth stories familiar to young generation. Although the myth is mostly the fantasy of the ancients, the involved material culture, as an objective fact, was well recognized by the public at that time. Therefore, digging out these contents can help teenagers better understand the details of traditional culture.
